::Computing past the pea...the Learned Processor and it's Iconography.

Last week I wrote about Stuxnet and it's implications to the Digital world we live in. It is something that has been explored by the United States Senate and something that will be examined @ greater length in the weeks and months to come. Cyber-security in Digitas is a trend that will grow and is probably of interest to  everyone that remains interactive. This week, I was going to post on the concepts of 'Adornment and Objectification' but will hold off until after the Holiday. I have been looking at NAVIA and thinking about computing and the icons that drive an interface.

"Thank you for tuning into, our Shift, our Time, our Telia as told unto our World-Wide Web and the Internet--the collective world mother and mirror."

((+))

On occasion, we are all guilty of surfing, stumbling and meandering on the Internet and World Wide Web. Today I've found something that only ~2500 other individuals have found, read and consumed, out of the over 2.5 billion plus that traffic lines, wires and the 'synapses' of  the Digital sphere. Teleologically speaking, we are a sum of science and art, both of which have been parented by the Devine, despite what empiricism chooses to  conclude and what 'negativist' choose to snark at. Those in the Intelligentsia with more of a computational savvy + gravitational leaning towards binary may agree with vigor and glee....just like the eager beavers and the adroit from Cambridge can concur.

(=)

As my first writings immersed the über hip and technocrati alike into understanding concepts like salon + agency, cloud computing [within a Redmond] nebula strategy, cyber, linguistics, social tremors, teleological creep and shift. I stood (read: seated) in front of my computer befuddled and bespeckled (...grin) @ the complexity that the universe has spurned forward and that the technocrati hounds with abandon-- all the while 'we' try to remain sentient, virally relevant, and partially bias to the individuality that is inherent in a name as well as in an American SS# --guten Tag.

Truth of the matter is that probabilistic computing and the hounds which beckon it's masters call have been foraging at the very corners of the consciousness mind and beg questions that are of equal worth for beavers, comparison shoppers and ((dot)) net developers alike. In turn, there are interrelated and spurious questions that spawn and bring other spheres of the intelligentsia into the dynamic which lends certain kinds of adverts to be found in your in-box, voice mails and inserted in between  pages of print + your favorite television shows.

Let's watch some of the what I have coined the 'Learned Processor' and the NAVIA / PICOL Sign's brilliant presentation, it is my understanding that PICOL "...is a project for providing free and open icons for electronic devices. The aim is to find a common pictorial language and the lowest common denominator for electronic communication." The have been chosen as the icon driven lexicon for furthering the NAVIA communicative process. (Smart choice + great work, some might say an ode of sorts to Denis Interactive, oui?)

Iconography is the unwritten language that makes the world go around it is introduced and accepted  instantaneously and Globally. It's function opens a myriad of options that infects class, race and international borders, as such, it is interesting to see them utilized in technology, medicine, advertising and many of the other copious places where non-verbal communications proliferate and exist. The truth of the matter is that they are probably the most succinct form of communication and probably the most abundant in meaning especially in Digitas. Didn't we all cringe when Facebook changed it's GUI to accommodate the .MOBI influx as a valid internet platform? However, we adapted because of our innate ability to do so sans coercion and the prod of an annoying rod.

Let us continue with the Learned Processor, shall we? The totality of our existence has brought us here...Digitas replete with nano.scale + neuro.science all of which are regulated by the FCC and the FDA. However, "Trajectory" is as much about language as is inductive inference, it is the mainstay of how we think and of the "adaptive processes" which some say encompasses the totality of data and genetics. ((...distribution, collection and dissemination etc.)) Learned in nature is learned in the digital realm.  The inference anomaly is central to the human condition it is part of our Learned Processor and a shortcoming inherent in Man, his kingdom, and ultimately how he (or she) chooses to reign, share, and/or impart knowledge.

In these instances, we mirror the Invisible Cities of Ital Calvino in that the construct creates a logical sequence that challenges our space and trajectory in Time. On my FB page I would write that "my mind is like a pea, that grew into an existential neutrino...", and that we have gone too far in our parenting of Technology; if Technology is here for us and we know what ugly things that the past has created (via simulation, automation and human consternation) shouldn't we be mindful of how we rear our Digital Mother? She is our child and we are her icons.

+JO.
